This is an executive management position responsible for building relationships and linkages to various systems (Substance abuse and Mental Health, Health, Education, Department of Juvenile Justice, Domestic Violence, etc.) in order to collaborate and integrate services on behalf of the families we serve. Additionally, the position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating community activities, and functions for Heartland for Children. This position will oversee Community Relations (including media relations initiatives, community engagement and fund development activities), Education linkages, Primary Prevention, Behavioral Health and other interagency specialties. Effective performance requires a high degree of independent judgment, excellent communication skills and the ability to function under the established policies, procedures and practices with minimal supervision

- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with HFC customers
- Oversees daily operations of Education and Community Relations Unit, Behavioral Health Coordination and other interagency activities, projects, and programs
- Establish and enhance partnerships with agency leaders, community leaders and businesses to further the mission and vision of Heartland for Children
- Assist with monitoring and analyzing budgets to ensure fiscal plan is met; makes recommendations to Chief Executive Officer for plan corrections as necessary
- Demonstrates a participatory management philosophy which embodies final accountability and decision making at the lowest appropriate level in an atmosphere of openness and integrity
- Articulates and applies the team concept among staff, allowing employees to contribute to goals, agendas, discussion and decision making
- Models and enforces effective conflict resolution by encouraging open and free-flowing communication while exercising clear lines of responsibility. Responds decisively and expeditiously to staff issues requiring immediate attention
- Responsible for developing a succession plan, which includes development, plans for staff and ensures a performance review program
- Perform special projects as assigned

Bachelor's degree in Social Services, Public Relations, Marketing or Business required. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience, supervisory experience and extensive experience in child welfare.
