Guardian ad Litem Office (Circuit 10)

The Florida Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office is the best way to represent the legal interests of Florida’s most vulnerable children, the abused, abandoned and neglected based on data and evidence. Florida law requires the Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office to represent Florida’s children caught in the complex foster care system every day through no fault of their own. They face a world of temporary living situations and intervening professionals with a high turnover rate.  We are the only agency on the child’s case who focuses only on the child and represents the child’s legal interests in court and their social needs in the community.

Polk County Teen Court

Teen Court is a juvenile diversion program based on the philosophy that youthful offenders are less likely to re-offend when punishment is decided by a jury of their peers. Juveniles offenders who have little or no prior criminal history, may have their cases tried by local high school students in an actual courtroom. Most of these misdemeanor or minor felony cases are sent directly to teen court by law enforcement. This allows youth to bypass the traditional juvenile court process, thereby eliminating or minimizing a damaging criminal record. The offender must admit guilt, be accountable for their negative actions, and agree to complete any sentence handed down by their peers. Throughout this process, the youths will get a first-hand look at their justice system and an experience in restorative justice. Further, Teen Court helps to decrease the workload and expense associated with formal juvenile court proceedings.

Salvation Army of Lakeland: Pathway to Hope Program

The Pathway of Hope initiative is an approach launched by The Salvation Army in 2011 to provide targeted services to families with a desire to take action to break the generational cycle of crisis and enable a path out of poverty. It is rooted in a case management approach, focusing on client needs through a strength-based lens.

Targeting families with children came from the desire to have an intergenerational impact on poverty. By positively influencing the lives of parents, the Salvation Army can create better living conditions for children. Influencing children in their development years is crucial, as studies show that children who spend more than half of their life in poverty are 32 times more likely to be in poverty as an adult.

White Sands Alcohol & Drug Rehab

White Sands Treatment Center was founded in 2014 with the overarching philosophy that it was time to raise industry standards with respect to the quality of treatment, comfortability of patients, and increased rates of long-term sobriety. We recognized that national relapse rates were abysmal and treatment protocols have remained stagnant for many years. Our founders, CEO Garry Jonas and COO Joseph Ducey had a vision to create a treatment program that stood well above its competitors and that treated patients as individuals while also providing many of the comforts of their home environments.
