Summer is right around the corner, and now is the time to start planning for an exciting and enriching break for your kids! Whether your child loves sports, arts, STEM, or outdoor adventures, there are plenty of fantastic summer camps available across Polk, Highlands, and Hardee Counties.

At Heartland for Children, we know how important it is for kids to have fun, stay active, and continue learning over the summer months. That’s why we’ve put together this helpful list of local summer camps to make it easier for parents and caregivers to find the perfect fit for their child.

Polk County

  • Lakeland Mom's Summer Camp Directory: A comprehensive guide to various summer camps in Polk County, including art, sports, STEM, dance, drama, and more.
  • Boys & Girls Club of Polk County (Ages 6-18)
    • Dates: June 3rd - July 29th 
    • Days/Times: Monday - Friday from 7:30AM-5:00PM
    • No registration or weekly fees
  • AGB Summer Art Camp (Ages 7-13) - Details coming April 1st
  • Summer Horse Camps – Rockin’ W Ranch
    • Location: 5246 Rifle Range Road, Bartow
    • Activities: Horse Riding, Games, Crafts, Water Activities, Barn Chores, Horse Care
    • Hours: 8AM-12PM
    • Fees: (Cash = $450/person; Paypal = $500/person)
  • Bricks 4 Kidz: Offers Summer Camps focused on STEM activities using LEGO® bricks. 
    • Location: Dixieland Elementary School – 416 Ariana St, Lakeland
    • Hours: 9AM-4PM
    • Monday, June 9th – Friday, June 13th
    • Fees: $285
  • Camp Frontier: Florida’s Overnight Summer Camp with over 50 activities for boys and girls ages 7 – 17.
    • Location: Vanguard School in Lake Wales
  • Camp Fire Sunshine Central Florida: Provides youth programs, including school-year and summer day camps, teen service, leadership programs, and outdoor education.

    • Light A Spark (K-4th Grades)
      • Dates: June 2nd – August 1st (choose the weeks you want)
      • Cost: $165/week or Mini Camp $105/week
      • Activities: Outdoor adventures, creative arts & crafts, education and games
    • Ignite Summer Camp (5th-7th Grades)
      • Dates: June 2nd – August 1st
      • Monday – Friday from 7:30AM-6PM
      • Location: 2600 Buckingham Ave, Lakeland
      • Cost: $165/week
    • Teens in Service (8th -12th Grades)
      • June 2nd – August 21st (Mondays – Thursdays)
      • Activities include: Horse Rescue, Kitty Kat Lounge, The Bully Project, Great Apes, Chisengut Conservation, Raining Cats and Dogs, and more!
      • Must be a Camp Fire Member
      • Projects only $20
      • Welcome to the Camp Fire Donation Center
  • Circle F Dude Ranch (Ages 6-16): Offers summer camps with activities like horseback riding, water sports, and more.
    • Sleepaway Camp Session from 1-3 Weeks

  • Family Martial Arts Center 
    • Dates: May 30th - August 8th
    • Days/Times: Monday - Friday from 7AM - 6:30PM

    • Fees: $325/week (members receive 15% discount)
  • Lakeland Community Theater Classes
  • Lakeland PAL: Activities include football, archery, fishing and mentoring.
  • Lakeland YMCA Around the World in 44 Days! 
  • City of Lakeland Camp Blast (1st-5th Grades)
    • Dates: June 9th – July 25th (7 weeks)
    • Days: Monday – Friday from 7:30AM-5:30PM
    • Cost: $400 
  • No Limits Sports Summer Camp in Lakeland
  • City of Winter Haven – Camp off the Chain
    • Dates: June 2nd – July 25th from 7:30AM – 5:30PM
    • Fees: $150 Residents and $300 Non-Resident 
  • City of Winter Haven – Summer Teen Volunteer Program (Ages 15-17)

Highlands County

Hardee County
