Fatherhood Support Specialist

  • Job Summary:

    This is a professional position responsible for assisting with the planning and delivery, enhancing the health/well-being, supporting fathers’ involvement though case management, care coordination, educational services and engagement initiatives.

  • Essential Functions:

    • Establishes and maintains positive working relationship with HFC internal and external customers
    • Identify trends in the Circuit 10 system of care related to fatherhood engagement and needs
    • Assist fathers in successfully partnering with the child welfare system of care
    • Support all fathers with educational, economic, employment, mental health, housing and healthcare services as needed
    • Make referrals for fathers as needed
    • Maintain timely and accurate records of visits, contacts, screenings and resource linkage
    • Facilitate staffings for fathers as needed
    • Collaborate with service providers to connect fathers for needed services
    • Plan and implement events for fathers and their child (ren) as needed
    • Performs special projects as assigned

  • Qualifications Required:

    Bachelor’s degree in Social work or related field.  Minimum of two years of experience working with children, teens, young adults and/or families required.

  • Qualifications Preferred:

    Child welfare certification highly preferred.
