  • Job Summary:

    This is a professional training position with responsibility for development and delivery of training activities for child welfare professionals such as case managers, investigators, Heartland for Children employees and employees of the system of care network providers.

  • Essential Functions:

    • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with HFC customers
    • Provide field assistance in case plan development, judicial reviews, court related functions, staffing preparation, FSFN awareness and other field support/activities
    • Assess child welfare training strengths and needs for development of training and provide input to annual Training Plan
    • Develop and provide training and technical assistance on topics including, but not limited to, Florida Safety Decision Making Methodology Practice Model, Pre-service Curriculum, Psychotropic Medications, Child Health, Well-being, Transition Age Youth and child welfare Quality Management Practices
    • Develop expertise on training related technology, techniques, and presentation media
    • Develop & implement “best learning and training practices”
    • Establish and maintain all required reports, training hours, certifications, and re-certifications 
    • Provide support to the Director of Organizational Development & Learning   
    • Distribute, aggregate and report on system of care data as requested
    • Participate in weekly Performance & Quality Improvement (PQI) Committee meetings
    • Assist with the COA accreditation process and coordination/participation in COA meetings
    • Aid with continuous quality improvement throughout the system of care
    • Use statistical software to collect data, track trends, conduct analysis and develop reports
    • Engage in opportunities to increase knowledge around system of care practices and innovative strategies, and new training tools and techniques
    • Other duties and special projects as assigned

  • Qualifications Required:

    Bachelors degree in social services or related field.  Master’s Degree preferred. Three years’ experience in the child welfare field.  Experience performing training, quality assurance and quality improvement functions in the child welfare or human services field.

  • Qualifications Preferred:

     In-depth knowledge of Florida Safety Decision Making Methodology and Child Welfare Trainer Certification and Child Protection Certification preferred.

  • Additional Information:

    In-Office designation requires the individual performing it to consistently be at the office five (5) days per week.  Hybrid designation requires some functions to be conducted on a regular basis in the office and has other functions that readily lend themselves to a remote work environment.  Remote designation requires functions to being performed remotely without a need for regularly scheduled time in the office.  This position is deemed as a remote designation.
